Uncharted C

The Upper Room officially opened its door for school Monday.  We are only studying writing for the next couple of weeks in preparation for the rest of the new curriculum we are using this year for Bible, History, and Literature.  The curriculum is called Starting Points and uses the writing program alongside it, which is from The Institute of Excellence in Writing, or IEW for short.  Our goal is to have a more casual approach to school.  Normally we push each day through attempting to squeeze every subject in and often end up very tired and frustrated.  There are several families utilizing this same curriculum this year and we have formed a discussion group in which the children can participate.  This is the first time any of us, minus H, has used any other curriculum than Sonlight, so we are going to try this out and see how it goes.

(Sorry, no pictures this time.)

  1. Good luck with writing. You can make it enjoyable or you can make it a strenuous job. Your blogs show that you have terrific skills. I know that you will do well. Have a terrific new year.
