Brian had much to fix with wiring--tearing out wires that lead nowhere, tracing light switches that never seemed to turn anything on, planning our future needs for lighting and how we want them to operate by remote controlled dimmers, etc.
We would also like a bathroom downstairs. To avoid future demolition, he moved a wall, wired, and vented the closet we'll convert. Plumbing will come later.
There were several heating ducts and copper water pipes below the ceiling joists in the adjoining room. Brian had to add nailers (forgive my inaccurate terminology--I'm not a contractor) on all of the joists and build a bulkhead to cover all of it. An aggravating chore to cover a multitude of differing measurements--nary a straight line to be found. (Insert "Dern Davis Homes" here--a phrase often uttered and used as a curse around the house.)
We began hanging drywall yesterday and will continue with insulation and drywall today. (sigh)
It seems that just looking at the room, progress is slow, but there is the "quick-quick" aspect that we can see too--knowing just how far we've come in a short amount of time. It reminded me of the "quick-quick-slow" dance. Is it the Foxtrot?
